1953 Ferrari 340 MM

Designed as a road racing sports car around Aurelio Lampredi's large-bore, tall-block 4.1-liter V12 engine, the Ferrari 340 was built in long wheelbase Mexico and short wheelbase MM versions. Of the 340MMs, just 4 Pininfarina Berlinettas, 2 Touring Spyders and 4 Vignale Spyders were built.

When Enzo Ferrari set up shop for himself he was joined by engineer Gioachino Colombo, with whom he had also worked in his final years as an independent contractor for Alfa Romeo.
